Many types of pH sensors are on the market and most are designed and marketed with specific strengths. But to get the most out of any sensor, it must be properly selected, installed and, most importantly, maintained. Inductively coupled, digital sensor technology now makes possible maintenance programs that maximize process pH measurement availability.
Using this technology, plants can accurately determine appropriate maintenance intervals through actual experience over time. Using this information, they can reduce field troubleshooting and calibration time in the field to under five minutes per pH measurement point.
The technology makes possible reliable pH measurements and related process improvements in even the most difficult applications.

Jay Mershon has been consulting on process liquid and gas analyzers and systems since 1989 following six honorable years of service in the US Navy. Jay joined Endress+Hauser in 2005, where he began his work with for liquid analytical products for the Northeast and Southeast areas. His role is to drive product marketing and business development of process liquid analyzers, sensors, systems, digital interfaces and related services.
Prior to joining Endress+Hauser, Jay worked in various sales and service roles at Emerson Process Management for more than 15 years, including four years as the Northeast US Regional Sales Manager for Rosemount Analytical. Throughout his career, Jay has developed and presented training programs for trade organizations including multiple local ISA sections, local AWWA sections, MWPCA, NJWEA, PA Rural Water Association, NYWEA, and Engineers’ Club.
