Research Triangle Park NC, USA – The Technical Program Committee of ISA Automation Week 2010:Technology and Solutions Event has issued a Call for Papers inviting authors, experts, innovators, and automation professionals to submit abstracts for presentation consideration at the conference to be held in Houston, TX, 4-7 October 2010.

ISA Automation Week 2010: Technology and Solutions Event is a knowledge-focused event that will bring top professionals in automation and control together for an intensive technical conference and networking opportunity with key industry suppliers.

Sessions will be educational and applications-based, rich in content, and delivered by subject-matter experts in each field.

The Call for Papers for the event solicits abstracts that cover topics for the following seven tracks, as they relate to automation:

* Safety
* Security
* Energy
* Environmental
* Automation and Control
* Wireless and Networking
* Professional Development/Human Asset Optimization

The deadline for abstract submittals for consideration to present is 16 April 2010.

The Call for Papers can be found online at www.isaautomationweek.org.

Gerald Cockrell, ISA Automation Week Technical program co-chairman, said, “This is a new event and we’re looking for cutting-edge, groundbreaking, in-depth papers with a heavy educational focus that will give conferees an edge in their workplaces or careers.”

“We want conferees to walk away from Automation Week with insights, knowledge, and product updates that will make their jobs more efficient, make their plants safer, more secure, and more productive. Our exhibit area is an important part of that vision, as the onsite technical exhibit personnel will complement the theory presented during sessions with applications and real-world products,” he continued.

A groundbreaking new feature that will assist attendees in navigating through the dozens of options within the program is ISA’s new professional tool, PathFinder.

Five professional groups, or paths, offer a unique combination of sessions that will enable attendees to shape a learning experience suited to their individual job functions and professional goals.

The five paths are:
Technicians,
Engineers,
Management,
Marketing, and
Academia/R&D/Scientists.

ControlSoft, the award-winning, innovative leader in advanced process controls announces training classes in our area.

Designed for engineers and technicians, classes will cover basic terminology and building blocks of process control as well as fundamentals and advanced process control techniques using our fully automated, award-winning control solutions.

This is universal PID loop tuning and advanced strategy training.

The skills you learn will work regardless of your control system. Software is used to do simulation exercises during class, but this is NOT a product training class.

As plants reorganize, younger personnel take on new tasks to improve efficiency.

Training overall will become the most important aspect that could improve operational efficiency in 2009.

Consider the role of skills and training in gaining a business advantage.

Their practical and fundamental training will help your technical staff to:

Identify and Solve Process Problems Before They Occur

Improve Production and Quality

Minimize Downtime and Increase Profitability

Reduce Process Variability

Reduce Heat rate

Reduce Chemical Usage

ControlSoft, are also pleased to announce that each class will be taught by instructors with many years of experience in the industry and are exceptionally knowledgeable in the subject matter and explain things as they pertain to the real world environment.

This, along with their Product of the Year Awards (INTUNE PID tuning software and MANTRA Supervisory Process Control software), is advanced process control made easy.

Take advantage of this exceptional opportunity and sign up today for PID Loop Tuning and Advanced Process Control Strategy training classes.

If you have any questions, please call 440-443-3900 ext. 103.

“All topics were covered very well and will be useful back at the plant. I would recommend the training to anyone wanting to truly understand the control loop tuning process.”
— I&C Technician, TVA, 2006 Attendee

“The training was great. We can now tune an application in about 4 hours that used to take us a week or more to tune properly.”
— Engineering Technician, Allegheny Energy, 2007 Attendee

“The trainer was very knowledgeable and covered everything well. The training and simulation exercises helped to get a grasp on our tuning issues.”
— I&C Technician, Garland Power and Light, 2008 Attendee

“Your instructor obviously knows the material well and was able to explain tuning mathematically in a way I had not seen before. I’m looking forward to trying his techniques during my next plant startup…any of us who are advancing into the technical consultant area would undoubtedly benefit.”

“The training class was excellent. I received a lot of good information and a better understanding of PID loops. Your trainer is very knowledgeable in the subject matter and more than willing to explain things as they pertain to the real world environment.”
