Topic:

The combination of industrial automation and the concept of Internet of Things promises to significantly reduce costs for operating expenditures as sensors, controllers, and actuators become internet-enabled. Control systems increasingly make use of fieldbus networks as smart devices spread. Previously unused data from low-level devices will become available for analysis and control. Security looms as an important issue because each connected device represents a target for unauthorized access.
