September 2017 Section Meeting
Topic: Laser technology for reliable gas detection

Open-path gas detectors can effectively monitor fugitive emissions and protect plants from the risk of explosion. This laser-based technique detects leaks faster and over a larger area than point detection. Typical installations include plant perimeters and process or storage areas as well as those in close proximity to specific items such as compressors, pumps, valves and flanges.

Speaker: Carrie DuMars
